Danhostel welcome Danhostel Sandvig in 2016
The beautiful, well-established retreat called Verona is now part of the Danhostel brand. Here you can get 10% off your accommodation if you have a Hostelling International (HI) Card.
Danhostel Sandvig is a family-run hostel, which opened its doors in 1991. Bettina and Per Sjøstrøm welcome all guests to a lovely hostel with twenty-nine rooms comfortable, all with private bathrooms. There is a centrally located living room with access to Langebjergvej road, and a large well-appointed dining room with access to rooms on the ground and first floors.
There is plenty of room around the hostel. A beautiful garden and patio awaits guests at the rear of the main house. The hostel is a great starting point for wonderful experiences in North Bornholm and the rest of the island.
Maritime theme
Danhostel Sandvig is located in a cosy little corner of North Bornholm - a unique haven for anglers. The place exudes a maritime atmosphere and is decorated with beautiful old wooden items such as buoys and various types of fish. Host Per Sjøstrøm, who has the sea in his blood, was a qualified ship's cook. He transferred his culinary skills to Danhostel Sandvig’s kitchen after returning to land for good.
A Paradise for Anglers
Anglers love Danhostel Sandvig and have been visiting since 1994. They especially love the winter months when things are a bit quieter because this is their favourite season. They come from all the Nordic countries, not only to experience the beautiful coast of North Bornholm, but also to get great value for their money. Per recounts his adventurous fishing trips so often that after hearing them, guests feel moved to experience them as well. He provides assistance with equipment, trip planning and last, but not least, information about the best fishing spots that the locals talk about. His large fishing boat makes it quite convenient to spend a day on the beautiful waters of Bornholm.
Close to Bornholm’s Unique Natural Surroundings
There is more to Bornholm than fishing. When you stay at Danhostel Sandvig, you are always close to Bornholm’s beautiful surroundings. Take an exhilarating 6 km roundtrip hike on the trail around Hammerknuden (Hammer Promontory), which is close to the hostel and near Bornholm’s fantastic coastline.
Welcome to all guests from hosts, Bettina and Per Sjøstrøm, of Danhostel Sandvig.
In the spring of 2019, the Danhostel brand published a manifesto and new strategy to implement the 17 UN Sustainable Goals over the coming years. Several Danhostels have already embraced many of the initiatives. Danhostel Ebeltoft has already implemented 4 of the 17 World Goals.
