Former Inspector becomes New Host at Danhostel Gudhjem

    Joy Smith

Danhostel Gudhjem acquired a new host on April 24, 2015. Tom Studsgaard will now be responsible for the day to day management of the hostel.

Tom Studsgaard is a great addition to the Danhostel family.  He knows Bornholm quite well because in the last 10 years, he has been inspector on the Island, and prior to that, he worked with children and young people for approximately 6 years.

Danhostel Gudhjem is located in the centre of Gudhjem on the north east coast of Bornholm.  The hostel is close to many attractions which are within walking and cycling distances, and is the perfect base for your stay on the island.

While there is continuous modernization to the building, the main section’s old fashioned charm is well preserved with its small rooms, beamed ceilings and timber. There is free WIFI and a TV lounge where you can follow late breaking news from around the world. Rent a bike and take a tour of the island's beautiful marked trails and attractions.  At the beach in Melsted, which is only 1 km away, spend time with the friendly locals who frequent the area, and learn more about Bornholm from a local perspective.

The town of Gudhjem is an idyllic and charming fishing village with steep streets, and houses which appear to perch on the terraces on the cliff walls. Gudhjem has several lovely shops, restaurants, and paintings.  Oluf Høst’s Museum is a stone’s throw from the hostel.   There are many restaurants and the terrain in and around Gudhjem is ideal for hiking in the forest and along the coast.

Welcome to Tom from the entire Danhostel family.
