Hold your next school camp at Danhostel Vitskøl Kloster and experience the magnificent surroundings at our unique Monastery.

At Danhostel Vitskøl Kloster, we have room for 50 students.  Meals, parking, Wi-Fi, plus use of our café and meeting room are included in your accommodation price.  There are bus connections right outside our door, so it is easy to go on trips using public transport.

There are several great experiences for school camps.  We recommend the following:

In addition, we can arrange events for your school camps. However, these should be booked in advance.  Here are some:

Archery Presentation

Content: Your students receive a short presentation on the history of archery in Denmark. The course ends with a brief archery practice session. This exercise unites your students as they train, focus, concentrate and work together.  Archery is also suitable for students with special needs.

Class: Third grade and older

Duration: Approximately 1½ hours

Location: Vitskøl Kloster (This event requires dry weather)

When: April - October

Eye Opener to the Middle Ages

Content: This is a presentation of the Middle Ages using PowerPoint and hands-on participation.

Class: Grades 4 - 6

Duration: Approximately 2 hours

Location: Vesthimmerlands Museum or at Vitskøl Kloster

When: All year

Medieval Visit

Content: Your school camp gets a visit from one of the following people from the Middle Ages:

Esben Spränghest, a dethroning crusader in Sven Thorkildsen's service.

Esben Afladskræmmer tells about his life as a pardoner, etc.

Henrik Harefod, a grocer, who tells about his life as a family man, his business, herring trade and sale of new goods in the early 15th century.

Class: Grades 4 - 6

Duration: Approximately 1 hour

Location: Vesthimmerlands Museum or at Vitskøl Kloster

When: All year

This event can be extended by adding archery training, arts and crafts or you can prepare a medieval meal for the whole class. (300 DKK for the raw materials).



The Blood Guild in Vesthimmerland

Content: The students participate in role-play based on the prelude to the Blood Guild in Roskilde. Who should be king? How does the King maintain power? This is an introduction to role playing.

Class: Grades 4 - 6

Duration: This can be presented based on your wishes

Location: Inside or out

When: April - October
