Danhostel Kolding
Danhostel Kolding offers accommodation for single travellers, groups, families and school camps.
Danhostel Kolding lies in beautiful surroundings in an elevated section of Kolding and offers stunning views of Koldinghus Castle, the Castle lake, harbour and fjord. Our hostel was built in 1938 but has been modernised several times. It is a beautiful black wooden building with 28 rooms, most of which have private bathrooms. Some rooms have direct access to the garden, while others have a French balcony. We offer free Wi-Fi and parking and provide a cosy TV lounge, barbecue areas and a well-equipped guest kitchen. There is an indoor pool located just over a km from our hostel. We are a course certified facility and provide two conference rooms with modern AV equipment. Dogs are allowed at our hostel.
Take the steps from our hostel down to Kolding City Centre and be there in 10 minutes. Kolding is close to all the attractions in Mid and South Jutland and is just an hour’s drive from the Danish/German border. The City offers plenty of art and design exhibitions at Koldinghus, Trapholt Museum and Kolding School of Design. The event location, ESTATE, is popular with famous musicians. A network of paths will lead you to Slotssøbadet, which features a large tropical water park and a playground for children with free entry for the whole family. Queen Dorothea's Bathhouse offers wellness facilities, plus various events and activities. Other attractions include Geografisk Have, a beautiful garden where you will discover plants from all over the world. The UNESCO World Heritage Site, Christiansfeld, a Moravian settlement, is worth a visit. After experiencing this unique location, try their famous gingerbread cakes and other treats.
There are many possibilities for cycling, kayaking and fishing. Check out Hartesløjfen and Ådalsruten, two of the many cycle routes which take you through Kolding’s naturally beautiful surroundings. Rent a kayak and sail on our rivers and fjord or take a hiking trip through Marielund Forest. Fishing opportunities are available at lakes and rivers such as Marielund Lake, Swan Lake, Kolding River and Vester Nebel River. There are also many put and take lakes located in the most beautiful sections of the City. How about some golf on one of the area's beautiful courses?
